Course Overview
Module 1: Leading & motivating your team:
- Understanding the role & responsibilities of the supervisor
- Exploring own leadership style and adapting to situations and people
- Creating a motivational environment in the team
Module 2: Managing performance with coaching skills for supervisors:
- Understanding the benefits of employee engagement for performance
- Agreeing goals and performance standards with team members
- Applying fundamental coaching techniques to develop team members and their productivity
- Embedding a ‘performance conversation’ approach in your team to enable ongoing feedback and insights
Module 3: Communication: maximising understanding
- Knowing the barriers to effective communication and building solutions to overcome these
- Understanding own communication style and its impact on building productive relationships with team members
- Knowing how to adapt own communication style to meet that of team members for optimum understanding
Module 4: Time & stress management
- Understanding how planning and prioritising affects productivity and performance
- Identify and eradicate common ‘time bandits’
- Understanding the impact of stress on performance and identify its causes and symptoms
- Applying simple but effective time management techniques to enhance own and team productivity and well-being
