Who Is This Course For?

This course is designed for people who lead or supervise teams at any level and is, therefore, responsible for employee engagement within that team.  It is recommended for all managers, supervisors and team leaders as they carry the most significant impact on employee engagement in an organisation.

This course complements traditional leadership development topics such as motivating your team, leadership, communication skills, and stress management.

This is an entry level course and there are no prerequisites.

What Will Learners Gain From Participation?

By the end of the one day training programme on employee engagement, learners will understand how engagement works in their own teams/organisations, and how to impact upon that.  You will:

  • Understand what employee engagement is and how it works in your team/organisation
  • Know what your people might be looking for from their work and how this impacts upon engagement
  • Understand the impact your leadership approach has on engagement
  • Be able to impact upon key factors within the working environment to enhance engagement
  • Understand that engagement is about small and consistent actions, not big events

 

Approach

This course will challenge you to take a fresh look at engagement in your team/organisation and identify what is driving higher engagement levels and what is driving disengagement.  You will have the opportunity to discuss key issues with your colleagues and work towards developing a new Employee Engagement Strategy for your team/organisation.

An MSc Occupational Psychology graduate from the School of
Psychology, Queen’s University of Belfast , Nigel has over 23 years’
experience across the sectors – public, private and not-for-profit.

His relaxed and friendly styles enables conversational training where learners feel safe to explore, discuss and even disagree with the topics being delivered. Nigel believes these conversations are fundamental to learning, allowing the learner to connect new concepts with previous experiences.
